I always like to get into the room early before starting a speaker workshop. It gives me the chance to see the speakers in their 'natural habitat'. Talking, laughing, telling stories. All of their unique personalities come through.
And then, the presentations begin and everything changes.
Everyone gets serious, formal, generic. It's what I call: 'speaker mode'. Most speakers have been presenting like this since their school days. It's what we know, it's what we see around us.
But is it really doing the job?
Let's do better. Let's do more. We can do so much more.
Let's break with the speaker mode tradition. Start accessing those wonderful qualities you have every time you tell a friend a story.
Everyone has the potential to be good at this.
